Our Desktop Management features are similar to that of our Server plans. There are some differences, however, that are easily understood. We offer two levels of Desktop support – “Desktop Care” and “Desktop 800-Care”. The main difference is that the Desktop 800-Care includes everything below including a 1-800 number to our United States based, 24/7/365 Network Operations Center. This allows you to call the operations center directly for immediate remediation of any computer issues you may be having.

Regardless of whether you choose Desktop Care or our Desktop 800-Care, your computers will receive all the attention they need on a regular and routine basis to maintain their proficiency. Our support engineers will proactively conduct anti-virus and anti-spyware updates and scans, defragmentation tasks, and Windows patches on a regular schedule. This is also where we’ll be able to detect failing hardware components before they occur by hard drive S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and report monitoring.

Our Desktop Care plans are only $25 per month per computer and our Desktop 800-Care is only $40 per month per computer.

On Site Service Needs

And just like our server plans, we charge a nominal $75 per hour repair fee – 2 hour minimum – for 5 or less computers (hardware / replacement parts additional). However, for accounts with more than 5 computers, or a server and any amount of computers, on site repair time is included (hardware / replacement parts additional). Discounted quotes for other quantity combinations. On site repairs are usually needed for the following situations: Loss of connectivity to the site where we cannot access the network; installation of new equipment (separate fees may apply); failing / defective hardware that needs to be replaced; major failures which require on site intervention for faster up time.

Patch & Computer Management

Our system engineers release new patches twice a month. With the VCS Patch Management software (included), our engineers can determine what patches are needed for your specific system. Plus, they’ve already been tested so we will avoid applying patches that might not be compatible with software you’re running. We’ve never seen a nurse give a shot without checking the dosage first and that’s why we don’t just install every patch that comes down the pike.
Other management services include routine disk checks, defragmentation tasks, internet cache cleaning, and so on.

VCS installs VIPRE Enterprise software with every plan. No need to purchase extra software or licenses, unlike other companies, we include this FREE with your plan! VIPRE Enterprise delivers sophisticated antivirus, antispyware, anti-rootkit and other technologies into a seamless, tightly-integrated endpoint security solution. We’ll update all of your VIPRE software and definitions on a regular basis so you’ll always have the latest versions. Routine scans of your system will keep everything free and clear. Remote Desktop Management Features

Client Portal Access

Log into the VCS client portal and view reports on your own. For added convenience, we even channel access directly to any computer that we manage for you. That’s right, be able to login remotely to any computer on your system and use it just as if you were sitting there. That’s convenience that other providers just don’t offer.

 

Vertical Computer Services’ Managed Services are an invoice (Net Terms) only product.
